Dr Jamie Lead 

Dr Jamie Lead is a Professor and Chair of Environmental Nanoscience and Risk and Director of the SmartState Centre for Environmental Nanoscience and Risk, University of South Carolina, USA. His relevant research interests relate to agricultural and water quality applications of nanoscience and nanotechnology. Most relevant is his development of nano-enabled devices for oil recovery from environmental waters, which are cost effective and have a low environmental footprint throughout its lifecycle. He is focused on clean and responsible technology innovation to maximize benefit and minimize risk. He is Founder of the start-up company GeoMat, designed to commercialize his fundamental research. He has published more than 220 peer-reviewed papers (Web of Science h-index 57) and holds several patents. Previously, he was a Professor of Environmental Nanoscience and a Director of the national facility FENAC, University of Birmingham, UK. 

Dr. Lead is currently an Editor-in-Chief of the CSIRO journal Environmental Chemistry.
