Jill Lauren Hass, P.Eng., M.Eng., LEED AP® 

Jill Lauren Hass, P.Eng., M.Eng., LEED AP® is a Senior Civil Engineer, with a master’s degree in Environmental Engineers (University of Ottawa), with more than 25 years working in innovation implementation and construction experience in the private sector, specialized in employing sustainable methodologies to infrastructure. She holds 2 patents and while Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of a green technology start-up firm, she managed 12 university research projects resulting in 26 patent families. Subsequently, Jill has been deployed for emergency responses in UN and INGO agencies for over 10 years and specialized in new technology implementation in fragile, conflict and violent settings.  She brings to Relief International extensive water security experience, having drafted water security planning for several small island nations, and after 4 years as the Global WASH Technical Director to now head the Technical Assistance Department. She brings to every project strong technical skills and is an outspoken advocate for decentralized & low-energy servicing approaches. A lifetime environmentalist, Jill spends her weekends canoe camping, kayaking, biking and cross-country skiing.
